How your favourite films could have been ruined by a mobile phone

How your favourite films could have been ruined by a mobile phone

How your favourite films really could have been ruined by a mobile phone

At Energenie Towers, we really do understand that there are few things in life more annoying than your mobile phone running out of battery and ruining your entire day.

We rely on our phones for so much

Nowadays, we rely on our phones for a great deal, perhaps without even realising the extent to which this is the case. A study by OnePoll found that 36 percent of UK adults said their phone was the gadget on which they most relied in daily life. This came in second place by a very narrow margin, behind 38 percent who said their computer was their technological pride and joy from day to day.

The same survey found that a massive 47 percent of people are using social networks on their hand-held devices, with 28 percent even getting notifications delivered straight to their phones to make sure they never miss a photo tag or status update.

While mobile phones have been around for quite some time, it is arguably the explosion of smartphones, and 3G and 4G capabilities that has completely transformed how much we engage with - and rely on - these pieces of kit.

With seven in ten people (71 percent) now banking online and almost three-fifths (59 percent) buying travel tickets in this way, we increasingly wonder if there's anything we don't take for granted that we can do on our phones nowadays?

Don't get caught short without battery

While mobile phone technology may have advanced at a staggering pace over the last decade or so, one thing the mobile masterminds-that-be have yet to concoct is a phone that doesn't run out of juice.

Whether you have a banged-out, tonne-weighing, snake-playing old Nokia 3310 or a top-of-the-range iPhone, nobody is immune to the curse of a flat battery - and there is arguably nothing more infuriating than your device giving up the ghost when you're out and about (okay, maybe stepping on a three-pin plug, but that's about it).

This is why we stock a range of portable chargers that you can use on-the-go, meaning that whatever time it is, wherever you are, you will be able to bring your device roaring back to life when it packs up mid-phone call. While we may not be able to stop you treading on three-pin plugs, we are doing our very best to stop people running out of phone battery on the go.

On the subject of how important phones are...

As Orange say, don't let a mobile phone ruin your movie. Well, this got Energenie thinking about this in the context of batteries dying. So, we've gone one step further to show how influential these devices are with this magnificent infographic illustrating how they could have completely transformed the outcomes of some our favourite - or perhaps least favourite, depending on how you look at it - films.

Titanic 2? No Hangover sequels? Oh what a different world we would now live in...
